About This Duck
The origin of BigScaryDuck and the creatures who live here.
The Short Version
I'm a CTO and software architect who's been building things on the internet for over two decades. I started with geocities pages held together with <marquee> tags and vibes, and somehow ended up leading engineering teams and designing systems that serve millions of people.
These days I write a lot of TypeScript, think a lot about developer experience, and spend an unreasonable amount of time tweaking things that nobody will ever notice.
The Longer Version
I fell into tech the way most people do — by accident, and then on purpose. What started as "I wonder how websites work" in the late '90s turned into a career building products across fintech, health tech, and SaaS. I've worn every hat from junior dev to CTO, and I've learned that the best code is the code that lets you go home on time.
When I'm not writing code, I'm probably 3D printing something that didn't need to exist, cooking a curry that takes way too long, or watching my huskies destroy something expensive.
Why BigScaryDuck?
Because the internet needed one more website built by a guy who thinks Douglas Adams had it all figured out. This site is my corner of the universe — part portfolio, part blog, part recipe box, part love letter to the things I care about.
